My Baby is Three

Everyone says to enjoy it.  Everyone says it just flies by.  And you know what?  They're right.  One day she was a tiny little bundle of pink softness.  And today she's 3 years old.  I don't know when or how it happened but it happened.  And now my home is dominated by pink and purple, tiaras and tutus, baby dolls and bottles.  And I am loving every minute of it.

The Birthday Girl woke up in a great mood, ready to party.

Her favorite breakfast of donuts and bacon and of course, pink milk.

Allie was slow and methodical when it came to opening presents.  Chase and Kyle were just about dying with how slow she was going, but I loved watching how much she enjoyed and appreciated each and every present.

Yeah for Barbie movies!!

The big purple baby doll was by far her favorite present of the day.  Thank you to Grandma and Grandpa Christensen for that!

So, now what do we get her for Christmas?!  December birthdays are so hard!

After breakfast and presents we all went with Allie to Build-A-Bear.  This was her first experience there and she was so cute to watch.  When she picked out her pink bear she thought it was over.  She didn't even care if it got filled with stuffing.  She was just thrilled to have a pink bear.  We could have left right then and she would have been completely satisfied.

But as she watched all of the other kids get their animals filled she started to get the idea.

She especially loved controlling the pedal to put stuffing in her bear.

Allie took the bathing of her bear very seriously.  This little girl is going to make a good mama one day.

After picking out the pink-est most princess-y outfit she could find we were on our way.  She absolutely loved this whole process and the smile shows it!

I'm usually adamant about making my kids' birthday cakes, but in all honesty, I did not have the energy for it this year.  Pregnancy and the holidays were getting the best of me so we settled for a store bought Barbie cake.  Allie didn't seem to mind since there was a sufficient amount of pink on the cake and she got to keep the barbie as a toy.  This experience taught me that I don't always have to do it myself and my way.  Sometimes you've got to let Wal-Mart have their part in your birthday celebrations.

This girl is just too cute for words.  She was the sweetest birthday girl and we all loved spending our day celebrating Allie.  Three years ago she became the most perfect addition to our family and now we can't imagine life without her.
We love you, Allie!  Happy Birthday!
